The Major Minors Children’s Choir have teamed up with their friends the Hutt Valley Singers to perform this special concert for Mother’s Day. The Children’s choir which is in its 4th year of singing is looking forward to performing its first official concert for 2015 with larger numbers and some very enthusiastic children!
The concert features a variety of music to suit all tastes from classical to musicals to pop, all songs which have been chosen about mums, for mums, requested by mums and even touching on the point of view of mums. ‘It has been great fun working with both choirs for this concert, the variety of music has proven challenging but immensely fun and often entertaining at rehearsals!’ says Musical Director, Joanne Roelofs, ‘the audience will have a roller coaster ride though a musical feast of songs just for our mums.’
Both choirs are accompanied by pianist Karen Boyce, who has also arranged two of the pieces in the concert. Combined the choirs will have 70 singers on stage who are all excited to offer our community a different kind of Mother’s Day present!
‘Songs for our Mums’ is being held at the Upper Hutt Baptist Church, Upper Hutt New Zealand. Cnr Fergusson Drive and Milton Street, 2.30pm on Sunday, 10th May 2015. Adults $10 and Children $5 with door sales only.
