Please see: Announcement of the 2nd Great Choir Festival in Qingdao City, Jimo district 2018: The association of Musicians China and Peoples Government of Jimo district of Qingdao city is organizing the Great Choir Festival from the 15th of September to the 19th of September in Jimo district of Qingdao.The main information is the following： The main object of the festival is choir performance, furthermore there will be lectures, and professional exchange opportunities. Participating choirs: There will be in total 40 choirs participating, the most from China, incl. Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan. Hospitality: 1.During the Festival (15th of September to the 19th of September, four days, three nights)，the accomodation, food, transportation will be covered by the organizers. 15th is the day of arrival, 19th is for leaving. Travelling to Qingdao is to be arranged by the participants. 2. A further two days stay in Beijing visiting Great Wall, Forbidden city, a Beijing Opera performance is available for a reasonable price organized by local tourist agency. Invitation to participate in the Festival 1．Non-professional choirs of adults are kindly invited. The number of members should be not more than 50. Number of accompaniing persons, like conductor, piano player, other managing stuff should be less than 5. 2．Performance：maximum 4 short pieces are recommended to be performed, the performance is suggested to represent either the national culture of the performers or classical music style. It can be accompanied by piano or a small number of other instruments. The total time is recommended to remain less, than 15 mins. 3. Registration should be done by e-mail, providing the followings: name of the choir, if possible, website address of choir, name, gender, passport number of the choirmembers and accompanyiing persons travelling to China. Furthermore the title, author and the length in minutes of the pieces that will be performed. Location: Qingdao is a beautiful coastal city of Shandong province, with about 8 Million inhabitants. It was the host of the sailing races of the Olympic Games in 2008, and host of the G 20 summit this year. It has a warm, sunny weather in the middle of September. The city is built along the coast, and spreads on hills. One can find here from the old German buildings to the modern skyscrapers everything, that the 100 years history of this city left over. Visiting this city is a great opportunity to discover the beautiful spots of the city, to taste local food, to enjoy Chinese massage, experience the hospitality of the local people!
