The cultural and musical association " Coro Polifonico San Domenico Savio" in order to spread more and more the artistic / musical expression in the territory, aware that music is a universal heritage that must be shared with the new generations and represents a fundamental support in the process of maturation and affirmation of their identity, announces the 7rd National Festival of Choral music called "Laetantes in Choro"
REGULATION
On the 13th of July, 2019, as part of the patronal festivities the 6rd festival of polyphonic music will take place in SCORDIA (CT)
The request for participation can be made by any choral / vocal group, by filling in and sending in the attached application form by the 30th of June, 2019.
PARTICIPATION FORM
Participation in the event is open to male, female, mixed and young choirs and pueri cantores with a limitless repertoire in terms of musical eras, with or without instrumental accompaniment; The Artistic Director will select the choirs that will participate in the festival.
Admission to concerts is free.
All audiovisual and recording rights will be exclusively reserved to the organization
Travel expenses and accommodation will be at participating choirs’expense; The organization will provide, if necessary, a digital piano, professional amplification and percussion instruments where necessary
PRIZE GIVING
At the end of the festival, choirs will be given a certificate of participation, books, a CD of the event (posthumous) and a gift. A convivial dinner will be offered by the the organizing committee.
REPERTOIRE
The repertoire is free considering, however, that the festival will be held outdoors and will begin at 20.30. Each choir will have to indicate on the partecipation form its type and the type of music - that can be more than one – it will be performing. a) Sacred - religious repertoire; b) polyphonic, sacred and profane; c) folk music; d) opera; e) Spiritual - Gospel.
PERFORMANCES
Choirs will perform a repertoire comprehending from six to eight songs. Performances duration: 20minutes
CALENDAR OF THE EVENT
The calendar will be official one week before the event, showing timetables and the list of Choral Groups that will participate in each performance.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Choirs intending to participate are requested to send the partecipation form (and related attaches) by second class mail at: Associazione culturale e musicale “Coro polifonico San Domenico Savio", Via Garibaldi 220, 95048 Scordia (CT), or by email at: corosandomenicosavioscordia@gmail.com , by the 30th of june 2019.
After receiving the partecipation forms the Secretariat will reply to each request and will give all useful information for organizational purposes.
Each choir will be autonomous throughout the stay. The organizing committee is available to help choirs find hospitality at subsidized prices for overnight stays at Residences or Hotels.
The organizing committee is also available to arrange trips to Catania, Siracusa, Taormina, Etna.
At the end of each evening, the participating groups will be offered a dinner organized by the committee.
Participating choirs are requested to send the concert programme by the 30th of June, 2019, indicating
and also:
a) final list of participants;
b) any logistical need.
The organizing committee remains available in order to find the best solutions to facilitate a satisfying participation.
