Would You Like to Receive a $5,000 Donation to Commission a Piece? (This Is Not Clickbait)

  • Yes, you read that correctly. Here, I’ll explain in detail this initiative, the reason behind such a generous donation, and how you can take advantage of it.

    The Story Behind Senderos

It all started with a dream: to compose a piece that honors mothers who tirelessly fight for their children’s future. The piece, called Senderos (meaning "Paths"), alludes to the paths that mothers carve for their children’s future. The inspiration is deeply personal. My mother, a woman who raised my brother and me alone, working tirelessly to change our destiny, is the muse for this work. At only 7 years old, I watched her leave everything behind, even Argentina, to secure a better future for us, leaving us in the care of my aunt while she worked in another country.

This monumental effort by mothers is not just my story. It is the story of many conductors, students, and musicians who achieved great things thanks to similar sacrifices. That’s why Senderos aims to be more than music: a tribute and a tool for change.

    Why Such a Generous Donation?

Since 2022, I adopted a collaborative approach to create large-scale pieces, joining forces with consortia of conductors and patrons. This model allowed choirs, even with limited budgets, to access high-quality works.

The spark for this current initiative came with the piece I Will Dream With You, dedicated to the loss of my dog and supported by an animal sanctuary. That’s when I realized the potential of music to make an impact and raise funds for charitable causes. With Senderos, the plan is simple yet powerful: to encourage choirs to present the piece on Mother’s Day (2025 or 2026), whether in a live concert or video, incorporating a QR code in their programs or at the end of videos so that the audience can donate to local NGOs supporting mothers and children.

The consortium aims not only to cover the costs of the piece but to raise a surplus that will be donated to organizations from the first day. Additionally, I commit to donating a lifelong percentage of the sales of the sheet music to NGOs that work for children’s rights or causes aligned with the spirit of the piece.

To experience the essence of Senderos and feel its impact, I invite you to listen to what I have written so far (Click here). This preview will allow you to appreciate the depth and emotion we aim to share with the world.

The Opportunity of a $5,000 Donation

Thanks to the support of one of my patrons, there is a $5,000 donation available for any choir or university that wishes to commission this piece. The idea is to match this amount, either with your own resources, by joining the consortium with other choirs, or by raising funds from other sponsors.

If you cannot match the full amount, don’t worry. This project has generated much interest, and it’s very likely that several choirs will join the initiative. Together, they can contribute and reach or even exceed the necessary total. Moreover, this is an excellent opportunity to present this cause to your regular sponsors or potential new supporters. Sharing the importance of Senderos could inspire them to contribute as well, allowing you to raise funds creatively and collaboratively.

It is not necessary for your choir to have the full $5,000. Through this collaboration among choirs, sponsors, and patrons, we can make this piece a reality that will resonate in many communities.

How Can You Access This Donation?

    1. Commitment to the Cause: You must be passionate about the project and its purpose.
    2. Musical Capability: The piece has a medium/high difficulty level, lasting 8 to 10 minutes, and will be written for eight voices with instrumental accompaniment (string quintet, piano, and French horn, which can be replaced by a clarinet).
    3. Legal Requirements: Only choirs in the USA with legal status can receive tax-free donations.

    Procedure:

    • If you meet the criteria, write to contact@santiagoveros.site just saying: “Hello, my choir is... and I am interested.”
    • We will have a meeting to get to know each other, and if all goes well, we will create a contract tailored to your needs. The donation will be made effective, and you will need to match the amount or seek support to do so. Even if you cannot match the full amount, you can propose a figure that is comfortable for you, and other interested choirs can join your efforts to reach the goal together.

This is an opportunity not only to be remembered as one of the supporters of an extraordinary musical work but also to strengthen ties with your sponsors, send a strong message through example, and unite your community around a noble cause. The surplus funds will support local NGOs, ensuring that Senderos not only resonates in concert halls but also transforms the real lives of people in your community.

    Transforming Lives, Note by Note

If you feel this initiative resonates with you, if it is the message you want to leave with your singers and your community, don’t hesitate. Take the first step, and let’s make music that transforms souls, values, and lives.
