“Mauer Broadcast” is a 16-minute composition in which the public has the opportunity to come together and sing memories of the Fall of the Wall. This memory performance, part of the MauerFall30 festival organized by Kulturprojekte Berlin, will happen right at three historic sites - Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, Humboldtforum / Marx-Engels-Forum - with hundreds of singers from all over Berlin, several times over the course of the festival week:

      • Sing-in: Monday, 04.11., 10.30 - 13.00, Programm Pavillon Brandenburger Tor
      • Performance: Monday, 04.11., 14.30 - 15.30, Brandenburger Tor
      • Performance: Tuesday, 05.11., 14.00 - 15.00, Brandenburger Tor
      • Performances: Sunday, 10.11., 12.30 – 15.00, Alexanderplatz und Humboldtforum/ Marx-Engels-Forum

The project is an initiative of American composer Lisa Bielawa and American artist Sheryl Oring in cooperation with Kulturprojekte Berlin’s week-long celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution - Fall of the Berlin Wall

We have a website with more information and also a "Learning Tool" in English and German for people to learn different parts so they can show up and be part of it! The piece is created for maximum participation by singers at any level who do not need to read music. We are also looking for a couple of choirs to be "Leiter-Chöre," for which they will have a rehearsal visit from me, a small stipend and inclusion in all publicity materials.

Any questions? Want to participate as a choir, sing a solo or duet, or just come along and join the many voices? Write to composer Lisa Bielawa at mauerbroadcast@gmail.com!

We look forward to hearing from you!
