We are an auditioning, non-professional chamber choir, performing a diverse programme of repertoire at regular intervals throughout the year. We draw our membership from the hugely successful EC4 Music, a choir and orchestra that is widely regarded as one of the leading large amateur groups in London, and it is from this platform of success that CCoV takes its lead.
EC4 Music recently performed at the Barbican for the fifth time, raising money for The Prince’s Trust and is also very excited to be making its Royal Festival Hall debut in October this year to mark the grand finale of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2011. Lord Mayor, Michael Bear's appeal supports children’s charity Coram and RedR, a charity that trains and provides engineers and other relief workers to respond to worldwide emergencies. The celebratory all-English programme concludes with Walton's stunning Belshazzar's Feast. With the aim of producing one of the best amateur chamber choirs in London, CCoV has very much the same raison d’être as its larger parent, tapping into the rich but largely latent seam of non-professional musicians who live or work in and around the City of London. Our members have a great collective enthusiasm and pride in what CCoV has achieved to date, and we were delighted to be asked to take part in the recent Liberation Jersey International Music Festival. less
