We are girls who become like family through our shared passion for music. Each member auditioned by our choirmaster, Andre van der Merwe, and attends Stellenberg High School. Our repertoire consists mainly of Gospel, Acapella, Classical, Folk/Ethnic, and Sacred music.
We compete in various national and international competitions and strive to share beautiful music with the world while being cultural ambassadors for our country.
Achievements:
- Overall winners of the "ATKV Nasionale Applous-kompetisie" for 12 times (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011).
- In 2002 they won the category for Women's Choirs at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales.
- In 2004, we were awarded the highest percentage for any choir at the World Choir Olympics.
- In 2006 we won the much acclaimed Choir of the World trophy in Llangollen Wales.
- In 2007 we were awarded third place on the world ranking list compiled by Musica Mundi.
- In 2008 we were awarded 96,7% in the category: Even Voices at the 5th Olympic Competition for Choirs in Graz, Austria. The highest recorded percentage until 2012.
- In the World Choir Games 2012 held in Cincinnati, we won 2 champions trophies in the categories Musica Contemporanea and Music of the Religions. We also won gold in the Gospel category. less
