Any person acquainted with student culture understands the important roLe of music and singing in the life of a young person. Acastella is a platform for young adults studying at StelLenbosch University to practice their love of singing. Unfortunately the members got spread across the vast world and thus decided to stop Acastella at the end of 2013. Their sound combines rock, acapella, eLectronic, ambient and chant influences. Paradisum was created by Richard Childress, a Chicago-born professional singer, arranger and manager who brought together five taLented and versatiLe young singers to record a few demo tracks. This attracted some attention from a veteran A & R professional, resulting in Paradisum being invited to perform in a private showcase in London before execs from Universal and Sony/BMG Records. The band is now in a new exciting collaboration with the brilliant tv and film composer Philip Sheppard. New covers and original sings will be out on Soundcloud and iTunes early in 2012. We are named after a mystery ourselves - Veda Slovena, The Vedas of the Slavs, was a compilation of folk songs from Thrace and Macedonia published in 19 c., which is still considered a mystification. With an international cast of singers we are a living proof that true musical beauty and wisdom know no borders - neither national nor spiritual.
