Their mission is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excelLence. Their philanthropic mission is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. On September 10 of this year, NashvilLe Singers awarded their first Music Makes a Difference music education grant to John Overton High School. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout MiddLe Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. Òran began as an alumni offshoot of the Kokopelli Youth Choir, but it has since developed into a group made up of young adults from all over Edmonton and the surrounding area. Each brings a different viewpoint to the group, but all are united in their passion for singing. The choir stresses the same philosophical goals as its younger counterpart, striving to achieve musical excelLence and artistic integrity, as well as combining new interpretive techniques with more traditional choral expertise. The group is comprised of singers from all around the world who all call Hong Kong their home. Under the Leadership of Celia Leung, the group strives to add more musical colour to the city. Sing City was seen singing for charity and community events, and also at their own Christmas and Summer performances. We aim to give two or three concerts each year, plus a Christmas concert of music and readings. We are based in the village of RolLeston-on-Dove near Burton-upon-Trent, and draw our members – numbering around 50 at present - from a wide area of East Staffordshire and South derbyshire. There is no formal audition. We rehearse each week during school term times, on Wednesday evenings.
