Spera means hope in Latin, and it is a members’ shared vision on Music. All members studied a sacred choral Music under Koji Oguchi, Choir director, when they were high School students. They were deeply touched by Oguchi’s Music and established the Ensemble Choir SPERA. Making its debut in concert in March 2014 at Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall, SPERA’s Music was highly prized and well-reviewed in newspapers. It serves in Masses and services and performs in concerts as an ecumenical Choir, composed of students from Kitasato University, International Christian University, Hitotsubashi University and Rikkyo University. To us, Music is a universal language which needs no translation and crosses every boundary. We sincerely hope that our Music may touch the heart of every person who hears us sing!  

Its aim is to take up, interpret and spread renaissance and baroque Music, especially Spanish Music. The programmes presented by the group are the result of many Musical researches and their objective is a stylistic, liturgical and poetic coherence.

We are Stay Tuned Choir and we meet on a Tuesday evening in Dural NSW from 7.30-9.30pm during School terms.

 Our repertoire consists mainly of folk, gospel, pop and freedom songs all sung in glorious 4 part harmony and mostly in a capella style. All c...  moreWe are Stay Tuned Choir and we meet on a Tuesday evening in Dural NSW from 7.30-9.30pm during School terms.

 Our repertoire consists mainly of folk, gospel, pop and freedom songs all sung in glorious 4 part harmony and mostly in a capella style. All Choir members have online access to MP3 recordings of their parts so they can practise anytime.

We love welcoming new people so it would be great to have you along. There is no audition and everyone is welcome to come and check us out for a night before they join.  less
