Over the past 12 years, we have trained five generations of Young performers from across the school as part of our extra-curricular music programme. Specialising in acappella African vocals, our performances are enhanced with dynamic percussion and traditional dance. Many arrangements are created by the group's Musical Director, Mr Steve Cook, and by the students themselves. Our repertoire includes a range of traditional and contemporary African songs in a variety of languages. Over the years, this outstanding group has developed a reputation for thrilling, breathtaking and energetic performances at school concerts and further afield. The choir's founder and artistic director is Maestro Zakar Keshishian. The choir’s pianist is Mrs. Kamila Keshishian. The choir has a multilingual playlist which extends from Armenian traditional folk songs to modern Armenian or non-Armenian songs. These songs are performed in different ways: - A capella - Accompanied by the piano - Accompanied by the Armenian folk traditional band - Accompanied by a modern contemporary band. Many Armenian musicians from Armenia enrich the choir's repertoire with their unique and creative works. The choir members are composed of university students and secondary classes students in Armenian High Schools, as well as Young Armenians in the work force. The choir’s repertoire of sacred music ranges from the 16th to the 21st centuries, including a recently commissioned and premièred work by Roxanna Panufnik. The choir sings to a cathedral standard every week at the Sung Eucharist on Sunday and Choral evensong every fourth Sunday. It also sings at special services during the year and goes on tour each summer. Recent tours have been to Bordeaux (2014). Dordodgne/Aquitaine (2013), and Rome (2011, 2012).  less

Vargas Jr. It became one of the pillars of performing arts in the said school promoting culture and arts through choral music. The ensemble, directed by Jason Asbury, is a community chorus based in Brooklyn Heights. The 75-member ensemble meets in Brooklyn and is made up of neighbors who range in skill from semi-professional to newbies! Concerts include well known and little-known masterpieces of choral literature from Early Music to Contemporary composers and commissions by Brooklyn musicians.
