Myroslaw Antonowycz conducted the worship services in C... moreThe basis for the Utrecht Byzantine choir lies in a group of Ukrainian seminarians with its professors who came to the Netherlands shortly after the Second World War. Born and raised in Ukrainia dr. Myroslaw Antonowycz conducted the worship services in Culemborg for the reestablished Ukrainian seminar. After the seminarians were graduated, they swarmed out to fulfill their priestly vocation for the Ukrainians all over the world. The now outside the monastery walls well-known seminarian choir fell apart while applications for the singing of liturgies and concerts throughout the Netherlands, kept coming.
On the initiative of Msgr. AG Smith, dr. Antonowycz founded the Utrecht Byzantine choir on February 9, 1951, consisting of only Dutch men, who specialized in singing the liturgy according to the Slavic-Byzantine rite.

The main interest of the choir is to serve through music repertoires performances especially in M... moreManado Catholic choir, known as MCC, was founded in 2009 by Kevin Bosco Wantalangi and 15 others Catholic youth of Manado Diocese, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The main interest of the choir is to serve through music repertoires performances especially in Manado Diocese which consists of catholic churches of the province. The choir performs ordinarily music during Catholic Mass and other forms of choir services in churches and events. The formation of this Catholic youth has agreed to give contribution to the church and the country as young generation through music.
In 2014, Manado Catholic choir had established its junior member, named Manado Catholic Youth choir (MCYC). Consist of school age youngster and as part of Manado Catholic choir has the same vision and mission.

Abendlied
Composer Josef Rheinberger has crafted a beautiful setting of the text, with the six voice parts alternating roles between homophonic and contrapuntal writing.
ABOUT THE choir:
Since 2009, the CWU Chamber choir has held annual recording sessions to create videos specifically designed for YouTube. All are under the baton of Dr. Gary A. Weidenaar, who has been the director of the choir since 2006.
As of Fall, 2016; there are 26 videos. Ten of those feature the music of Ola Gjeilo and are the result of working with Mr. Gjeilo in 3 recording sessions over a 5 year period. On most of them, he is at the Piano. His... less
