Spera means hope in Latin, and it is a members’ shared vision on MUSIC. All members studied a sacred choral MUSIC under Koji Oguchi, choir director, when they were HIGH school students. They were deeply touched by Oguchi’s MUSIC and established the Ensemble Choir SPERA. Making its debut in concert in March 2014 at Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall, SPERA’s MUSIC was HIGHly prized and well-reviewed in newspapers. It serves in Masses and services and performs in concerts as an ecumenical choir, composed of students from Kitasato University, International Christian University, Hitotsubashi University and Rikkyo University. Founded by a group of choral MUSIC lovers in 2002, KCC has leaded the choral MUSIC community to an unceasingly advancement in southern Taiwan. KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, female or male choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary chamber choir MUSIC, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. KCC’s active presence on stages has brought several acclaimed rewards from private and public offices. Under the leadership of the current Artistic Director, Dr. Chia-fen Weng, KCC launched the Elite Workshop to further expand the choir’s caliber in 2007. This program recruited a few young talented singers to act as voice teachers in the choir, such as Hua-chen Liang, Je-jium Chan and Ying-jen Yao, and offers MUSIC theory, body movement and dancing lessons to its members as part of this Elite Workshop program.
