Founded in 2008 under the direction of Matthew Larkin, the Choir is formed of professional choral scholars from the Toronto area. The Larkin Singers has had successful tours to Bristol, UK as resident Choir at Bristol Cathedral and to New York City. They have also presented concerts in Ottawa, London and Kingston. In 2008, The Larkin Singers released its first recording, "A New Work is Come on Hand" featuring music of the Christmas season by Bach, R.V. Williams, Howells, Ord and others. Now in its fourth season, The Larkin Singers presents a 3 concert subscription series; outreach and collaborative performances throughout Ontario. Out Aloud is Sheffield's Gay Choir. It was formed in 2006 and enables lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transgendered people in Sheffield to enjoy singing as a community. There are no auditions and members dont need to be experenced singers or read music.
