The concert Theme focused on The damaging nature of gossip and The larger meaning of how words are powerful and have greater impact than we realize. Based on a well-known Jewish folk tale, The piece is largely sung in Yiddish, featuring narrated passages in English, with The moral resolution in Hebrew. Doug Mears is The Artistic Director with Patrick Vaughn as Youth Director. Youth Choruses have two convenient campuses with The professional support of Caroline Crocker and Bonny Tynch and Youth Chorus Directors. Additionally, full time accompanists and music educators meet The rehearsal and music education portions of this semi-professional Chorus. Last July, over 100 BIG Sing members flash mobbed The Maldon Tesco Store and The YouTube video has had over 16,000 views, raising money for Cancer Research UK. As well as community events, The BIG Sing have hosted Their own sold out shows in Essex and have many more coming up this year! As The BIG Sing grows we are continuing to reach out to more people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to unite people with uplifting music and have seen The choir members grow in confidence, experience The thrill of performing on stage, make new friends and belong to a new choir family.
