Stars that spill on a melting stem of brilliance down to earth, make landfall here like swans who are burnt by flight. We find an orphan of ashes, a child of chilled obsidian: in the middle of winter we nurture the seeds of stars. On days of silver light at the end of summer, they’ll lift away to resume their long migration. You who’ve been told There’s nothing, nothing to be done, you who have come to a place of broken stones, remember us who have sparked a star from dust, and seen its wings ignite the darkling sky.  less

Its repertoire is varied and loosely “classical”, focusing on sacred and secular music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. This is an auditioned group with considerable musical and choral experience, one that aspires to a higher standard of performance. Our members include amateur and professional musicians, choir directors and music educators. Prospective members may audition from time to time as positions come open. Contact the choir if you have an interest in joining. We perform mostly a cappella pieces, but many of our concerts include accompaniment by members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and organ.  less

This choir is partnered with a non-profit organization called the New York Community Alliance for Sickle Cell Anemia Inc. We plan to use our concert venues for aiding this organization's cause. Our conductor John Hunter II is a young but competent conductor. He received his Master's in Choral Conducting from Mansfield University.
