We accomplish our mission By combining The power of women's experience with musical expression in The following ways: 1) each season we commission one new piece for women's voices from a female composer; 2) each season, we research, uncover and perform a work for women's voices By a female composer who has been overlooked in music history; 3) we provide an annual scholarship to one girl to sing with The Phoenix Girl's Chorus and 4) each season, we perform two annual concerts and a variety of local performances in our communities and schools.  less

Ably assisted By, now ...  moreThe Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 gaThering togeTher a group of like-minded individuals of Welsh heritage sought to kindle The Spirit of traditional Welsh male voice singing in Their adopted country. Ably assisted By, now emeritus, music director David Low, The founding members saw Their numbers grow to a membership of sixty choristers. The choir continues to grow musically under The direction of William Woloschuk and accompanist MatThew Coons. Although many of The current members still lay claim to Welsh connections, The TWMVC now has members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The TWMVC proudly draws on The great Welsh tradition of singing hymns and songs born of The mountains and valleys of Wales.
