Our concerts are at various venues in and around th...  moreWe are a small Chamber choir of 20-25 Singers founded 55 years ago, based in the London borough of Hillingdon. We perform a wide repertoire of secular and sacred music, with and without accompaniment. Our concerts are at various venues in and around the borough, and once a year we perform with a small professional orchestra. We also hold regular social gatherings, to include families and friends, and enjoy musical evenings and events. Would you like to sing with us? New members in all voices are warmly welcomed. After a few weeks there is a short informal audition, which includes some sight-reading. Members are asked to pay a modest subscription of £11 per month by direct debit. We rehearse weekly during term time on Monday evenings from 8.00pm to 10.00pm, in the small parish hall at All Saints Church, Long Lane, Hillingdon, UB10 9BT. The small parish hall is behind the main church hall, and can be accessed from the side entrance.  less

We Annually we p...  moreCarlow Choral Society Carlow Choral Society is a mixed-voice choir of over 60 members (SATB) directed by Blánaid Murphy, Musical Director of the Palestrina Choir, St. Mary’s ProCathedral Girls Choir, Dublin Bach Singers and RIAM Choir. We Annually we perform two large concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. We have a remarkable repertoire of many choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Mathews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. We sing at home & abroad. In November 2011 the choir recorded a Christmas CD. New members are welcome. We rehearse in St. Patrick’s College, Carlow Monday nights from 7.45-10pm. Directed for more than ten years by Michael Bawtree, its repertoire spans the Renaissance to the pres...  moreWith a current membership of around 30 Singers, Glasgow Chamber choir was founded in 1994 and has developed into one of Scotland’s finest amateur choirs. Directed for more than ten years by Michael Bawtree, its repertoire spans the Renaissance to the present day and has included the Scottish premieres of works by James Whitbourn, Hans Gál, Jan Dismas Zelenka, Richard Bush and Judith Bingham. The choir performs regularly in Glasgow and central Scotland, and has toured to France, Holland and Sweden, where it has formed links with other choirs. Recent BBC radio engagements have included William Walton’s Henry V Suite with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Sunday Worship live and Bryan Burnett’s ‘Get it On’ show live on BBC Radio Scotland. The choir features regularly in Raymond Gubbay’s Christmas Festival in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.  less
