Very much (but not exclusively) in the barbershop stlye. Even though we have only been going a few months, our numbers have been increasing weekly as more and more people are seduced by the magical sound of ringing chords. We aim to be a serious performing chorus in due course. We have had a very successful 2012 and hope for even better in 2013 where we have a whole host of exciting things planned. Stay tuned! In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo adds an improvised accompaniment (in a one-take rendition) to his composition "Northern Lights"-- which is published as an unaccompanied piece. Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moment", the project was entitled "In the Moment". The other composition to which he created an improvised accompaniment was "Ubi Caritas". He also accompanied the choir on "The Ground", which includes CWU's resident faculty quartet -- the Kairos String Quartet. Excellent performances just don't happen and a lot of hard work and effort is put in at every rehearsal, however, the camaraderie, enjoyed by everyone, is also a very special part of being a Choir Member. In 2005 the local Council of the borough of North Down conferred the status of Borough Ambassador on Bangor Ladies Choir. This is the first conferment ever to an external Organisation outside of the Council Membership and the Choir were privileged and proud to accept this unique position. We aim to make chor...  moreLeeds Male Voice Choir is a vibrant and dynamic choir of fifty men that performs throughout Leeds and Yorkshire. With an inclusive approach our members have different levels of singing experience and come from a variety of backgrounds. We aim to make choral singing as accessible as possible to all men. Our performances offer something for all tastes with an eclectic mix of folk, opera, pop, sacred and classical pieces. The choir selects a diverse range of music music which is both familiar and new to our audiences enabling us to touch on as many different styles and genres as we can. We are always keen to hear from potential new members. You don't need to be able to read music and many of our members have not sung in a choir before. As long as you can sing in tune and are willing to learn, then you are half way there. A disciplined approach and an enthusiasm for a wide range of music will also stand you in good stead.  less
