With members graduated from Hong Kong traditional schools like Diocesan Boys’ School, Belilios Public School, St. Paul’s Coeducation College, Ying Wa Girls’ School, St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, St. Paul’s College, Wah Yan College Kowloon, and also universities like the Hong Kong University and the Chinese University, the group was immediately invited by the HKSAR government to a celebration performance in early July 2010. The group also presented a standard professional program of sacred music in its first concert “Inspiratio” in August 2010, and a themed concert, featuring a range of masterpieces of Chinese Choral music,「聲．華」in August 2011, which won critical acclaim from local music conductors, composers and musicians. As Australia’s pre-eminent co-educational children’s choir, AYC is committed to providing young singers aged seven years old to senior high school years, with vocal tuition, performance and learning experiences that encourage the enjoyment of singing and learning music, teamwork, good communication and self-esteem. For many years the blue and gold robes of the Australian Youth Choir have featured at cultural events that shape our nation. The Australian Youth Choir has a rich tradition in choral music education, educating thousands of choristers throughout Australia. Choir Lesson Program Choir and singing lessons follow a set choral curriculum structure to develop the following skills on a weekly basis: Choral repertoire Sight singing / memory training Voice production Breathing techniques Performance and stagecraft skills Lessons also include rehearsal of selected music for two annual performances.  less

We Annually we p...  moreCarlow Choral Society Carlow Choral Society is a mixed-voice choir of over 60 members (SATB) directed by Blánaid Murphy, Musical Director of the Palestrina Choir, St. Mary’s ProCathedral Girls Choir, Dublin Bach Singers and RIAM Choir. We Annually we perform two large concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. We have a remarkable repertoire of many choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Mathews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. We sing at home & abroad. In November 2011 the choir recorded a Christmas CD. New members are welcome. We rehearse in St. Patrick’s College, Carlow Monday nights from 7.45-10pm. MGC travelled widely in Europe and had a high standard. In 2003, we changed our name to Manx Voices. We love singing to community groups, in church services and concerts. We compete in our local music festivals and have sung on stage with Blake. We are a very democratic, mutually supportive group of women ranging in age from 10 to 70!
