During the tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed the Choir won the prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200. The College Anthem ‘School of our Fathers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at thIs competition on the 13th day of July, 1928 and to thIs day takes responsibility of preserving the College Anthem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with the support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq. The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, the most significant out of which being the Annual Carol Service. Coaching and conducting Is provided by BIshop Grosseteste University College Community Music Development Co-ordinator Annie Walker. The emphases for members of Vocal Authority Is very firmly on having fun - whether they are singing Latin rounds or modern chart hits, they aim to do it with a big smile on their faces!

The choir aims to share Music across the boundaries of culture and place, using song as a tool of communication and community.

Kokopelli has been a featured ensemble at many events, provincially, nationally, and internationally. These include the Rocky Mountain National Music Festival, Podium (the biannual conference of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities), the regional conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the International Society of Music Educators conference, and others. In addition to many North American cities, the choir has toured to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Malaysia, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Zambia. Kokopelli Is often the ambassador for the choir association and as such, has received several awards for their work with youth, Music education, and the African Projects Fund.
