For over 12 years, Quinta.5 has been redefining the limits of the human voice, in a show that captivates the crowd over and over again. Their vocal blend, together with their original arrangements create a unique Israeli sound that can be distinguished in every performance, providing a rich musical experience for the Israeli audience.
Since the group was formed in 2006 by its founder Doron Ben-Ami, Quinta.5 has achieved great recognition both in Israel and throughout the world, and today is at the forefront of the contemporary a cappella scene in Israel. In 2012 they performed in the Israeli Music Awards (Acum) for the first time, and since then their performance has become one of the recurring acts every year.
The group performed in many Israeli well known festivals as well as formal national ceremonies and numerous television shows. In 2015 the group toured in the United States for the first time in celebration of the Isr... less

After the last premiere of the You Raise Me Up recording, the Academic Choir of the Gdańsk University of Technology worked intensively on the next choral song. This time we went a step further – we created a truly virtual Choir in the virtual cathedral. The recording was made in 360° technology, which means that we can listen and watch both sound and image in the full sphere. To capture the full effect, it's best to listen to this presentation in headphones on your smartphone. You can then feel like inside the old temple surrounded by sound from everywhere. less

ABOUT THE PIECE:
Composer Vijay Singh writes: “The Lord's Prayer was inspired by Oliver Messian's choral masterpiece "O Sacrum Convivium", with its use of dense harmony, existentialism, hypnotic transcendental tonal treatment, and grateful piety.” The composer decided to use the universal "Lord's Prayer" text and various musical ideas to communicate the power and hope of this prayer. The piece builds to climax at "For Thine is the Power and Glory forever!" and ends reflectively, savoring the "Amen".
THE COMPOSER:
Composer Vijay Singh is Professor in the music department at Central Washington University. This video is from a concert presented on the CWU Campus.in May, 2014 entitled: “The CWU Choirs and Friends sing songs of Singh” In that concert, 28 of Singh’s pieces were performed by 6 Choirs, including two invited guest high school Choirs.

During Choir recruiting there was no audition, skills assessment or notes reading required. Positive energy and desire to sing was all that mattered. Conductor Ewa Robak, PhD agreed to lead this unusually formed group. Her professionalism helped overcome doubts and proved that amateur singing can astonish both performers and their listeners.
This exciting and full of surprises adventure continues today with well-received concerts, charity performances and Piesniobrania – sing-alongs with city residents joining Antidotum in squares and concert halls.
The Choir’s repertoire includes choral classics, adapted folk songs, unconventional arrangements of contemporary pop songs, as well as patriotic and religious pieces.
Two years ago Choir members started taking part in regional Choir competitions and since they won seve... less
