In the present time, Antiphona acts as an nonprofit civil association of culture promotion. The Choir has been conducted by Mtro. Juan Carlos Bersague from 1995 to 2008. From 2010, Antiphona Titular Conductor is Mtro. César Alejandro Carrillo. In its curricular path, Antiphona has performed in several scenarios in Bulgaria, Colombia, Cuba, France, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela. The group primarily consiSts of vocal music majors, however, there are singers representing several other academic disciplines. The University Chorale has been under the direction of J. Steven Walker since 1984. Dr. Walker is the Director of Choral Activities and a Linscheid DiStinguished Teaching Professor at EaSt Central University. We are a group of friends who got to know each other while singing in the same academic or Chamber Choirs. Eventually, our passion for the classical music led us to create our own vocal ensemble. In our repertoire there are also some pop music arrangements.

The Johansen High School Vocal Music Department provides our Students the opportunity to perform great choral literature while entertaining local audiences and performing at a variety of civic and community events. We are excited that nearly 60 Students will participate in the vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. LaSt year our Choirs participated in multiple feStivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a conteSt this summer and sang on Stage with Foreigner at the County Fair.
