Chantage won the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition in 2006, recorded live with Elbow at Abbey Road Studios in 2009 and is frequently featured on Classic FM and BBC radio.
Chantage performs a wide range of repertoire, programming works traditionally performed by English chamber Choirs alongside lesser known works sourced from foreign choral cultures. Chantage was formed in 1999 by its Musical Director James Davey, and quickly established itself in London as a stylish and energetic young chamber Choir. It draws singers from all over the country and from all walks of life.
Strong commitment from its members has helped forge a growing reputation as an outstanding amateur Choir with a national reputation. CONTEXT
Historical, social and environmental contexts of Music, and the influence of these on performance, will be central to rehearsals and concerts. They will define the themes of our repertoire each year.
COLLABORATION
Based in Leeds, the Choir has numerous opportunities to collaborate with other ensembles, composers and charities to promote and support Musicians throughout the North. We hope to work with a variety of Musicians to develop quality and future collaboration within the Choir.
COMMUNICATION

The heart of Dozan wa Awtar Music Establishment is singing and community building. Major activities revolve around three groups: Dozan wa Awtar Singers, Dozan and Atfal Dozan. Dozan wa Awtar Singers is an innovative large community Choir ranging from 40-60 singers that performs three main concerts a year. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of genres including classical, Musical theater, Arabic and world Music .
