A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first in our 43-year history where we haven’t been able to stage live concerts, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still sing. A simple idea can change the course of history and what happens next in the USA will affect every corner of the planet. “Make America Love Again” must be the message in 2020. “There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America”. We ask you to adopt Make America Love Again as an anthem for 2020 . Music with words moves us more than arguments. “Make America Love Again” is a song that that can heal America’s soul. This is the MILLION PEOPLE FOR MALA campaign. It opens up a space for those who want more than words, it can appeal to every American. Recent history suggests the unimaginable is now the possible. Through weight of numbers, using our collective imagination, let’s make some noise in 2020. Let’s aim to hear “Make America Love Again” echoing round the USA, a message that can influence millions of individual’s perceptions and decisions. "I wandered lonely as a cloud" is a setting by composer Elani Willemse, of the poem of the same title by William Wordsworth, telling of the poet's melancholic experience of loneliness within his daily existance and how this melancholy is briefly relieved ...  more"I wandered lonely as a cloud" is a setting by composer Elani Willemse, of the poem of the same title by William Wordsworth, telling of the poet's melancholic experience of loneliness within his daily existance and how this melancholy is briefly relieved upon encountering a vast and beautiful field of daffodils. The melody paints the landscape, written in a minor key, which is then resolved to the major when his sadness finds resolution in this beauty that he experienced. Synaesthesia is incorporated by using specific harmonies and rhythmic patterns to imitate what the composer might imagine the poet saw, and the emotions he felt. This ultimately transforming the piece into a choral musical painting.  less

To have control over something matterless, we control it with the knowledge about it and thus gain power over it. The almost sinister thought “I'll tell you. You're young, but you're one of us, and I'm one of us, so I'll tell you.” gives the Toxic Psalms its tone. For in the background of the whole concert arch death utters and murderous plague intones. Through the music the Project reflects Palestine, Syria, Pussy Riots, weapons, concentration camps, blood feuds, extinctions, contaminations of religions and creates a picture of human brutality. The living of a man is changed into a drama here and now: men killing for the glory of their psalms. The author’s poise is not one of an agitator – awaking the feeling that “something has to be done” – it is rigorously contemplative. Despite ...    less
