These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the choirs invited to grace the Sing for Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records. Seitdem haben sich Mirko Ludwig (Tenor), Florian Sievers (Tenor), Christoph Behm (Bariton) und Tim Schwarzenberger (Bass) ein breites A-cappella-Repertoire erarbeitet und dieses bei verschiedenen Konzerten und Auftritten im norddeutschen Raum präsentiert. Durch die Jahre im Knabenchor musikalisch geprägt, führte der Weg alle vier Ensemblemitglieder zum Lübecker Kammerchor „I Vocalisti" unter der Leitung von Hans-Joachim Lustig, mit dem sie zahlreiche Preise gewannen, u. a. beim Deutschen Chorwettbewerb und bei internationalen Kammerchorwettbewerben wie Marktoberdorf, Tolosa (Spanien) und Cork, Irland.
