DCMVC rehearses Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at St Osmund's Church, London Road Derby.

Ernst Widmer (1927-1990) was a Swiss-Brazilian composer, conductor, pianist and professor. He came to Brazil in 1956 and spent half of his life in Salvador. He was a member of the Brazilian Academy of Music. He was master of three generations of conductors and composers in Brazil. PSALM 150 is a contemporary piece with rhythmic, harmonic and contrapuntal challenges. With its sounds of bells, trumpets, strings, flutes and timpani, describes the psalm and ends with a Hallelujah in the form of liturgical dance that grows up to the grand finale. less
