The 35 members of Bat-Kol, ages 12 to 18, perform with the Israeli Opera, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as well as taking part in theater productions, television programs, national public events and concerts for the general public. The Choir has participated in numerous international Festivals and competitions in which it won many gold medals. In April 2011 the Choir won three gold medals and the Grand Prix of the Slovakia Cantat international competition in which tens of European male, female and mixed Choirs competed.  less

Chamz, as they are popularly known, has continually rendered their voices for various Television shows, Music Festivals, Product endorsements, corporate events, charity concerts and outreach activities. Its repertoire is varied and loosely “classical”, focusing on sacred and secular Music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. This is an auditioned group with considerable Musical and choral experience, one that aspires to a higher standard of performance. Our members include amateur and professional Musicians, Choir directors and Music educators. Prospective members may audition from time to time as positions come open. Contact the Choir if you have an interest in joining. We perform mostly a cappella pieces, but many of our concerts include accompaniment by members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and organ.  less

A CD of his choral Music, I am the Song, was released in 2016 on Signum Classics. Bernard’s Music featured on the Horrible Histories film Bill (2015), and he co-produced the album, Not Now, Bernard & Other Stories, performed Orchestra of the Swan and Alexander Armstrong, released in February 2020. In January 2020 Bernard’s choral Music was featured in a portrait concert by the BBC Singers, and in November 2020 one of the pieces from that concert, I Sing of Love, was nominated by the Ivors Academy for an Ivors Composer Award. With Bernard's kind permission I am releasing this video of my multitrack performance of a part of his mass, dating from around 2006.  less
