LCGC is known for their up-tempo gospel flair, swing-beat, R’n'B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with their invigorating choreography and vocal gymnastics – LCGC is outstanding to watch! It’s 40+ members perform just about anywhere, private corporate functions, after-show parties, conferences, schools, cabaret functions, clubs, weddings, christenings, funerals, prisons, churches, open-air festivals, theatres and concert halls. LCGC have sung on the soundtrack for Walt Disney’s “The Lion King”, performed for Nelson Mandela during his famous visit to London, officiated at many celebrity weddings and supported Madonna on stage during Live 8. They represent the best of British and have been sponsored by the British Council at international festivals in Europe, Africa and Israel. These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries. Like Melissanthi, Alexandrian Voices is, in the wider area of Alexandria, the music institution that target to the development of choral music, of course through the good company and the love for music itself. From the beginning it counts approximately 50 choristers, all amateurs (meaning that none has studied music) who love and sing almost all kinds of music. Since their beginning, Alexandrian Voices had the opportunity to participate and be distinguished in numerous events, competitions or not, musical or of special interest. Including the annual concert held on "World Chorus Day" on the second Sunday of December every year, we perform at elementary and junior high schools, social welfare facilities, etc., and sing at chorus festivals, giving the "TSURUBUN SOUND" in a variety of venues.
