Hoc est enim corpus Meum
Die Ewigkeit der Welt liegt hier in Meiner Hand
Die schweren SchMerzen, Erlösung und Liebe sind ein Seufzer in Meiner Hand
Christus Mein! Herr der Ewigkeit in Meiner Hand
tröstlich und klein in Meiner Hand
Weiss und vertrauensvoll hier in Meiner Hand
Bescheidenheit der Liebe leigt zärtlich hier.
In Meiner Hand liegt Gott
[English original]
Hoc est enim corpus Meum
The world's eternity lies here within my hand.
The weight of pain, of love, redemption is a sigh upon my hand,
My Christ, Lord of the infinite,
small to my comfort in my hand.
Humility of Love that tender here lies low.
White, trusting, full of care within my hand.
So, in my hand lies God.

A Psalm Beyond the Silences
If they could be here now,
The six million murdered then,
They would see survivors
Praying in their Memory...
A psalm beyond the silence.
If they could be here now,
Those too, too soon taken,
They would share this proud prayer
Of the children of truth...
A psalm beyond the silence.

In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo adds an improvised accompaniMent (in a one-take rendition) to his setting of the Ubi Caritas text -- which is published as an unaccompanied piece. Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moMent", the project was entitled "In the MoMent".

Christmas In a Minute Chopin/Biegel
Piano music for choir? Why not! Written originally for solo vocalist, I turned this into an SATB choral tongue-twister--a cappella--and then added a piano part, which was further orchestrated for choirs performing with orchestra during the holiday season....

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy NaMe;
Thy kingdom coMe;
Thy will be done
in earth, as it is in heaven:
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive them that trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil;
for thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.

The Hubbard Saga was written specially for Sale Festival 2001 and follows the antique antics of the fabulous dog of Old Mother Hubbard. The children's chorus echoes the barking of the dog whilst the adult choir takes us through the story. Then the children -- one by one tell us the story behind the poem itself.
The forces are:
Children's choir (in 2 parts)
Adult choir (SATB)
Flute
Clarinet
String quartet
Chorus part
