Undertakes to be a space for youth have contact with concert choral Music. The group sings a diverse and technically challenging repertoire, exploring different sounds and new Musical languages. In his repertoire are works by composers as Janequin, Scarlatti, Bach, Beethoven, Whitacre, Widmer, Stroope, Jobim and Ronaldo Miranda. The styles range from classical to popular, jazz, spirituals, sacred Music, Brazilian Popular Music, opera and Musicals. Since its formation is conducted by Altamiro Bernardes and has Lana Bernardes as assistant conductor. The choir members receive training in vocal technique, Music reading, perception, Music history, harmony and Musical aesthetics, always in the context of choral activity and a language for young people. The essence of the Victoria Scholars’ Music is an emphasis on the clarity and balance of sound so characteristic of Renaissance Music. Their repertoire encompasses medieval plainchant, works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, contemporary and newly commissioned works. Past winners of the Canada Council Healey Willan Grand Prize in the CBC Radio National Competition for Amateur Choirs, the Victoria Scholars have performed with many of Canada’s exceptional vocal soloists, and have toured both in eastern and western Canada. On Christmas Eve morning 2017, I was approached by a member of our congregation who said he had been inspired by the Holy Ghost to write some words and that he would like me to set them to Music. To begin with I wasn't sure, since they seemed somewhat re...  is).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreisplay:none;">On Christmas Eve morning 2017, I was approached by a member of our congregation who said he had been inspired by the Holy Ghost to write some words and that he would like me to set them to Music. To begin with I wasn't sure, since they seemed somewhat repetitive, but as the day progressed to the early afternoon I found that I was also inspired (I even missed lunch!). The piece varies in mode from D Dorian to A Aeolian. The performance is by me (multi-tracking).
