Formed in 2008, Dozan wa Awtar Singers is The leading secular choir in Jordan, with a diverse membership and repertoire. We welcome people of all nationalities and faiths, who want to experience The joy of singing and exploring music as a way of building community based on love and respect. The choir performs several major concerts each year; its Christmas and Spring concerts in Amman are highly anticipated events.
Dozan wa Awtar’s repertoire includes a wide range of sacred music, from Byzantine hymns through The chorale classics of Western music to The present day and Islamic anasheed. The choir also enjoys performing secular music, including folk songs from around The world, Broadway hits and arrangements of popular, contemporary music in many languages. A sub-group of The choir, called “Dozan,” is specializing in performing traditional and contemporary music in Arabic. ALERON, being an all-male Ensemble, is geared towards exploring The male choral soundscape. Through innovative programming and The performance of repertoire across musical styles and genres, The group aims to deliver to its audiences a diverse and unique choral experience. Cantate is a mixed-voice youth choir based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. It is open to all young singers, whatever Their background and musical upbringing. Cantate comprises three choirs for children and young people which all perform to an exceptionally high Standard. Cantate performed at The Royal Albert Hall, both in The BBC and Schools Prom Concerts, The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican, The Guildhall London, 10 Downing Street, St Paul’s CaThedral, The Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, and in many local and regional venues. Cantate has gained many national and international awards. In 2008 we achieved international acclaim at The world’s largest choral event – The World Choir Games in Graz, Austria – in which over 430 choirs from some 90 countries competed.
