On Thursday, October 25th, 2012 Saint Alexander's Male Voice Polyphonic Choir (Palaion Faliron) presented the Workshop “Music for non-Musicians” in the ceremonial Hall of the Faculty of Philology (University of Athens), as the opening event for the celebrations for the 175 years since the founding of the University of Athens, an event which was held under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Philology (University of Athens).  less

Our programme varies from stunning ma...  moreHart Voices is a mixed voice Choir based in FLeet, Hampshire which achieves a high-standard of singing from a non-auditioned Choir. We perform four concerts each year across three terms running from September to July. Our programme varies from stunning major choral works to satisfying Chamber music programmes and the occasional light programme of popular numbers! Singers are drawn not only from FLeet and the surrounding area, but also outlying towns including Guildford and Basingstoke. Choir membership is currently around 50 voices, many of whom have sung with the Choir for several years. The combined experience and enthusiasm enables us to explore new musical horizons - both in repertoire and venue. We aim to broaden our experience, strive for quality and musicality in our performances and involve young singers wherever possible. PG Carnivalesque" under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech, attracted several hundred people who listened to daring performances of popular pop music hits. During the performance we heard choral arrangements of...  moreThe concert "ACH! PG Carnivalesque" under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech, attracted several hundred people who listened to daring performances of popular pop music hits. During the performance we heard choral arrangements of hits such as: "Dancing Queen", "Memory", "California Dreamin'" and "Maria". This time it was not Mozart or Bach, but ABBA, Queen and songs from the musical West Side Story that graced the walls of the Gdansk University of Technology in carnivalesque musical artistic creations. Jazz musicians performed along with the Choir, and the musical effects were accompanied by a unique lighting arrangement, which required appropriate space and audience arrangement. The more-than-hour-long performance by the Academic Choir of the Gdańsk University of Technology, conducted by Prof. Mariusz Mróz and accompanied by musicians from the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, ended with joint singing, encores and a standing ovation.  less
