The choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an Early music ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate chamber groups in the Western United States. This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators. The group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler. One could trace back choral singing at St. Benedict’s to the Early years of the 20th.Century when La Sallian Christian brother expatriates from Europe inculcated in the local staff and student bodies , an appreciation of choral singing. They brought to our school the rich traditions of classical music that prevailed in Europe, at the time. By and by , they were ably assisted by highly interested and committed lay trainers cum teachers who went on to train prize winning choirs that stood out among schools and also were in great demand for national events. The history of the Benedictine choirs would not be complete without reference to the great English musician Rev.Bro. Hugh Farrington , ably assisted by Bonnie Fonseka. They established the reputation of Benedictine choirs. It is the choir's mission since its existence to captivate audiences with versatile and enjoyable singing which is passionately presented by each member. The choir consists of 58 learners, under direction of Stefan Buys and accompanied by Brigitte Botha.  

The Kinge's Quire was formed in 2008 to sing music from the Renaissance, as well as modern anthems and motets in the English choral tradition. The group is dedicated to offering opportunity for young singers to sing advanced choral literature.
