We are all from different denominations but we serve the one and only true living God. We perform at corporate events, music festivals and at our annual Clash of the Choirs event

The Department has...  moreThe University Chorale performs the "Song of Ruth" by Rudy Lupinski and Victoria Davison. The East Central University Department of Music as part of the School of Fine Arts is housed in the beautiful Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The Department has over two hundred participating students of which approximately half are music majors. We have eighteen faculty members and are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Matthew Emery (b.1991) is a Canadian composer whose music has been performed across North America and has been heard on national television and radio. Emery's choral works have been performed by renowned vocal ensembles including the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Canadian Chamber Choir, Choirs at the University of Louisville, University of Western Ontario, University of British Columbia and the Nova Scotia Youth Choir. Student membership includes students from all disciplines that love to sing and enjoy camaraderie through great music. It is intended to provide a foundation in area of vocal technique while achieving a high standard of excellence in repertoire selected from all periods and musical styles. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester.

A joyous exclamation which is set at a wedding, where the groom is being asked: "Where are you hiding the bride". Traditional Sesotho South African traditional music is known for their movement and dancing in their songs, and the UP Youth Choir accentuates this by highlighting the movement in their performance.
