are descriptors from audience members after recent Chamber Choir appearances.
Since 2006, when Gary Weidenaar took the baton, the Choir has received invitations to appear at four state & regional conferences:
Meticulous attention is given to performing music of various periods or parts of the world in the style appropriate to that era or culture including adjustments of not only style but tone color also.
Recent clinics with guests Chanticleer and Weston Noble have helped the Choir grow and the Choir regularly premiers new works by composers.

Cantorum Chamber Choir is a group of 30 singers known for their dynamic performances and varied repertoire. The Choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early music ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate Chamber groups in... moreCantorum Chamber Choir is a group of 30 singers known for their dynamic performances and varied repertoire. The Choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early music ensemble, transformed into one of the premier non-collegiate Chamber groups in the Western United States.
This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators.
The group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler.
Cantorum is under the direction of Steven Durtschi, a graduate of Brigham Young University and Utah State University.

The members of the Ensemble are all amateurs and have the same ideal that their performance can touch the Heart of every audience through their well-trained voices. Their repertoires include folk songs, classical songs, musical pieces, pops, and premiere works by renowned composers.
In March 2011, Plaisir Ensembe achieved a great success in the “1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition” organized by the INTERKULTUR. They won the Gold Diploma, the Category Winner as well as the Overall Winner of Chamber Choirs.
The Ensemble is one of the Top 50 Female Choirs in the Musica Mundi World Ranking List. less
