In addition we are frequently asked to sing at local events, weddings and celebrations. the Society was started in 1960, under our founder Gerald Brown, and we are still going strong. We are now led by James Gallagher, who has been working with us since 2009. We invite local young soloists and professionals to perform with us. Our repertoire ranges from 16th Century works to those of living composers and covers both major serious and popular works. We do provide music for those who want it, but you are not required to audition or read music. All are welcome. We do a fun variety of world music, pop classics, and whatever else we feel like. We do one performance per session, and ask our audience to sing along too. We are a welcoming and warm and eclectic group.

I had the honour of making the announcement on behalf of Archbishop Desmond and Mrs Leah Tutu, who have given me permission to develop the initiative around the world, in support of their own Justice, Peace and Reconciliation work. the Archbishop first heard Choir Invisible perform outside and inside the King's Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, on 11 July 2008, at a Civic Reception held in his honour. He was, quite simply, spellbound by the choir and an immediate rapport was established. Upon his arrival at the King's Hall, the harmony of the choir, singing a Swahili love song 'Malaika' (My Angel), caused him to stop and listen.
