The forty boys of The choir are educated at Westminster Under School, part of London’s historic Westminster School, established before 1179 as a monastic school of The Benedictine Abbey of St Peter. In 1560 The school was re-founded by Queen Elizabeth I for boys to be “liberally instructed in good books to The greater honour of The state.” Ever since, The school’s history has been intertwined with The momentous state events and political turmoils of The capital. Old Westminsters dominated Parliament for most of The eighteenth century and The output of leading politicians, statesmen and soldiers has continued to this day. The school’s contribution to literature, philosophy and The arts has been immense, from such alumni as Ben Jonson, John Dryden, Henry Purcell and Christopher Wren to A.A. We're a group of about 20 men & women, and sing in 3 or 4 (or more) part harmony. Quorum love to raise money for local causes - covering all sorts of charities, in all sorts of venues. Quorum Singers of St Albans has been singing for over 25 years, and perform around 3 times a year in St Albans or locally in Hertfordshire. We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays, throughout The term time, and can often be found performing in Christopher Place around Christmas time!  less

Our mission is to spread a message of respect for The natural world through music from across The globe, and we have performed at events such as Glastonbury Festival 2013 Opening Ceremony, and The United Nations World Environment Day concert in Staines and in Oxford Street, central London. We welcome men and women of all abilities, and sessions are taught by ear so no experience is needed, just a passion for singing and a love of The earth! Our Musical Director is The renowned Susie Ro Prater who has supported choirs and natural voice movement workshops for many years. Our very enjoyable choir practices take place once a month at The HyThe Centre in Egham, Staines, easily accessible by train from Central London and free parking onsite.
