Members come from Balfron, Killearn, Drymen, Kippen, Aberfoyle and furTher afield. We rehearse in Balfron Church on Monday nights at 7.30. We are under The musical direction of Mark Evans, and perform publicly at both Christmas and Spring.

We perform at least three concerts per year with professional orchestras or accompaniment in The major Dublin venues and over The years have undertaken trips to choral festivals abroad. Two regular events are The ever-popular Christmas Concert in The NCH and The Carmichael Centre’s annual fund-raising concert in St, Patrick’s CaThedral, formerly on good Friday but latterly in May.

In The beginning, Greenwood Singers specialized in The performance of a cappella music from different stylistic periods. Its programming has now expanded to include works with soloists, instrumental ensembles and chamber orchestra. A versatile ensemble, The choir has performed frequently with The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a wide variety of programs which have included Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, Holst’s The Planets, family Christmas concerts, The concert version of Jerome Kern’s Showboat, Orff’s Carmina Burana (with The Alberta Ballet) and The ESO’s 1992 reunion with The British rock group, Procol Harum. It started out with one small group of friends made up of mostly teenagers. The group was created 17th of August 1987 when a group of seminarians from St. Vincent had Their apostolate togeTher with The image of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal (name of Medallion was taken) at Metro Heights, Visayas Ave. Culiat, Quezon City and a choir was needed for The mass. The group started singing acapella during eucharistic celebrations and also singing at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish every saturday evening mass. From 1988 to 1989, anoTher group of seminarians, which is The Franciscans, lived in The community for more than a year and help The group in singing. In Abgrenzu...  moreJedweder Küchenchor – eine Art Lebenslauf Im Herbst 1987 fand eine Reihe von Leuten mit ausgeprägter Lust am Singen ihr Betätigungsfeld im soeben vom Chorleiter und Kontrabassisten Arnulf Lindner gegründeten “Chor der Stadtinitiative Wien”. In Abgrenzung von Kammer- und Kirchenchor stiftete der Name „Jedweder Küchenchor“ eine Identität, die es in der Folge erlaubte, sich quer durch das Repertoire der Musikliteratur zu singen. Nach den anfänglich ausschließlich musikalischen Chordarbietungen, entdeckte der Chor immer mehr die Lust zur kreativen Bühnengestaltung und begann dramaturgische Elemente in die musikalische Darbietung einzubauen. Für das Programm „Familie Grinzinger besteigt einen Berg“ 1997, engagierte er erstmals eine Regisseurin (Nika Sommeregger), die den Chor bei der Inszenierung unterstützte.
