They soon found a community of singers who are equally passionate about the energy and intimacy of chamber choral music performed at a high caliber. We aim to establish a strong group of singers who rehearse and perform regularly, predominantly a cappella choral works but sometimes with instruments and including some solo/small ensemble repertoire. We will be commissioning new works as well as exploring established repertoire and pieces by CoMA composers and associates. The group will reinforce as well as supplement the established CoMA Voices programme. Singers are expected to be confident singers with some sight reading experience, be prepared to tackle unusual vocal techniques and unconventional pieces. Its name, consisting of the words Poly (Polyphonic) and Rock, means "Polyphonic Rock Chorus", that is, "Polyphonic Rock Chorus". As a Corporate Motivation product, Tolga Gülen has been working with companies on PoliPop since 2011. Deciding to offer PoliPop outside of corporate participation, it was implemented within the body of "Kadıköy Municipality Volunteer Counseling and Training Center". PoliRock, together with PoliPop, became Turkey's second modular Chorus project. There is no notation and exam system in PoliRock. Tolga Gülen has been using his own song learning technique that he developed during his work with corporate companies for years. PoliRock is open to the participation of anyone who wants to sing. We believe that ar...  moreThe mission of the Summit Choral Society is to produce and present quality performances of distinguished choral music for the enrichment, enjoyment, and education of our singers, our patrons and the Greater Akron community - and beyond! We believe that artistically excellent performances of beautiful music – presented with enthusiasm, energy, and insight – provide artistic experiences that have broad appeal and enrich the lives of performers and listeners alike.  

The TCC is made up of youth and adults from the Trumansburg Community. We welcome new members and are looking to grow the chorus. There is no audition to join our ranks, however, a basic knowledge of choral singing and music is helpful.

It was one of his most popular madrigals, as well as one of the most interna...  moreWeep, O Mine Eyes - John Bennet (Sopran's Guide) “Weep O Mine Eyes” was first published by composer John Bennet (c. 1575-c. 1610) in his first collection of madrigals in 1599. It was one of his most popular madrigals, as well as one of the most internationally famous songs of the period. It is apparently based on John Dowland’s “Flow, my Teares”. Like Dowland’s lyrics, these lyrics express an intense melancholy of someone whose happiness has been abruptly shattered and desires to not be saved from this dark despair. The speaker wishes his death by drowning in his despair, in his tears. The expression of melancholy, and notions of darkness, neglect, Time’s cruelty, spiteful age, were themes used by Elizabethan songwriters to prefigure the stark inevitability of death, and it remained a prominent feature of English literature and music in the time of Elizabeth I and Shakespeare.
