Founded in 2008 under the direction of Matthew Larkin, the choir is formed of professional Choral scholars from the Toronto area. The Larkin Singers has had successful tours to Bristol, UK as resident choir at Bristol Cathedral and to New York City. They have also presented Concerts in Ottawa, London and Kingston. In 2008, The Larkin Singers released its first recording, "A New Work is Come on Hand" featuring music of the Christmas season by Bach, R.V. Williams, Howells, Ord and others. Now in its fourth season, The Larkin Singers presents a 3 Concert subscription series; outreach and collaborative performances throughout Ontario. The University Chorale is the touring ensemble for the Choral department. The ensemble performs a wide spectrum of the finest Choral literature. The group performs extensively throughout the Southwest and will be singing at several venues in Washington D.C. during December of 2013. The group primarily consists of vocal music majors, however, there are singers representing several other academic disciplines. The University Chorale has been under the direction of J. Steven Walker since 1984. Dr. Walker is the Director of Choral Activities and a Linscheid Distinguished Teaching Professor at East Central University. The ensemble performs with Jon Washburn and the Vancouver Chamber Choir on three or four Concert programmes each season and also presents one or two independent Concerts with its own conductor. Pacifica Singers provides an ideal performance venue for experienced and motivated Choral singers whose goal is to make music at a very High level. By providing direct exposure to the world of professional music making, it is an experience of great value for singers intending to make a career in music. The Seagrave Singers are an award winning all-female choir. It is our aim to bring enjoyment to others and ourselves by delivering a High quality performance. We present our own Concerts bi-annually and organise Concerts to assist with fundraising.
