But the attendees enjoyed it so much they wanted it to become a regular thing. So now, 2 and a bit years later we are now a weekly session! We sing anything from Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, Jonathan Nelson and even Kanye! We meet every Wednesday evening from 7:30pm in Enfield, London, UK  

The Saskatoon Chamber Singers was founded in 1977 by a group of former Greystone Singers (University of Saskatchewan) who wanted to continue singing in a quality choral ensemble. The choir has been a finalist in both the CBC choral competition for amateur...  moreThe Saskatoon Chamber Singers was founded in 1977 by a group of former Greystone Singers (University of Saskatchewan) who wanted to continue singing in a quality choral ensemble. The choir has been a finalist in both the CBC choral competition for amateur choirs and the International Choral Kathaumixw in Powell River, British Columbia, and participated in the non-competitive Festival 500 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It has also been the guest choir at Saskatchewan Sings, and sang at the installation of Lynda Haverstock (a former member) as Lieutenant-Governor of Saskatchewan. In 2010, the choir performed at Podium, the biennial conference of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities, held in Saskatoon. The choir’s repertoire has been rich in variety since its establishment, and Canadian music has always been an important component of its programming. This project we did gave some of our members the studio experience while also challenging t...  moreBeing a Non Profit Organization, a part of our mandate is to explore different avenues of Gospel music and introduce our members to different musical environments. This project we did gave some of our members the studio experience while also challenging them in an area of music they were not used to! In this case, the areas we wanted to expose our members to were the ins and outs of recording in the studio, learning a technical piece using the written score and learning how to be aware of our presence while on video. We hope to provide more experiences like this to our members on NGGC. Enjoy!  less

In Oct of 2008 I returned to the Jes church, the place I had grown up with my father running the folk mass choir. He had retired 12 years previously. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and prayer, families and young couples, singles and religious, was now a quieter mass with no choir and I saddened by this. I offered my services as a singer and musician to come and provide music for the 5:30 mass and within a few short weeks I returned to the place I consider my spiritual home. I had not purposely set out to start a choir but people began to approach me with a desire to sing and it was a need within the community I was not going to Ignore. On the 12th Dec 2008 The Jes Gospel Choir was birthed with 5 Singers and me & it was a wonderful experience and we received a very warm welcome. We sing everything from madrigals to musicals, folk to funk and have a great time doing it! Always open to new members, particularly sopranos at the moment!
