The Merry Poppins. Last Sunday We performed in Café De Pianist in Amsterdam. That's me in the bottom right corner playing and conducting :) We performed songs from musicals such as Hair, Fiddler on the Roof, Sister Act, and of course Mary Poppins. It was recorded on 5th December 2010 in the Harvey Nichols Espresso Bar in Leeds' magnificent Victoria Quarter in the first of St Peter's Singers' now-traditional Sunday evening carol performances there. The choir is directed by Dr Simon Lindley, its Music Director since the Singers' formation in June 1977. We have about 25 members currently, but We are gaining new members each year. We put on two "shows" each year to raise funds that benefit the chorus as a whole. We also perform throughout the year at various venues - retirement communities, nursing homes, churches, banquets, and other events.

The choir is directed on this occasion by its regular accompanist David Houlder, Sub-Organist of Leeds Parish Church. The Music Director of St Peter's Singers is Dr Simon Lindley, Organist of Leeds Parish Church and Leeds City Organist, who has held this post since the choir's formation in 1977.
