It has appeared in major venues in Austria, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Wales... moreThe Drake Choir is Drake University’s select touring ensemble, performing regionally on an annual basis and internationally every four years, most recently in May 2012. It has appeared in major venues in Austria, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Wales, and Ireland. The ensemble regularly collaborates with the Des Moines Symphony and sang the Beethoven Ninth Symphony with that orchestra in September 2011. The Drake Choir has performed in Carnegie Hall and has been featured on the conference program of the American Choral Directors Association North Central Division.
The ensemble consists of 64-70 singers who are first-year students through seniors and who represent every College of the University. Auditions for returning students take place in April and for new students during the weekend preceding the start of the fall semester. The ensemble rehearses Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 3:30-5:00 p.m. and is conducted by Dr. Aimee Beckmann-Collier, Director of Choral Studies and Professor of Condcuting. less

The New Choir is an auditioned chamber choir performing Choral works from all genres. The choir has been conducting regularly scheduled performances in the Bay Area since its founding.
The members of the New Choir have been brought together by their common love for the making of bEautiful music. The New Choir is dedicated to the study and performance of quality Choral literature and sharing the joy and the spiritual enhancement inherent in the making of music.
The New Choir has been recognized for their performances of thoughtfully prepared programs. Te Deum was founded by Matthew Christopher Shepard in 2008 to fulfill an expressed need by both singers and audiences in the Kansas City area to present sacred Choral music Concerts of the highest quality. The Te Deum Chamber Choir performed its first Concert in spring 2009. Since then, the chamber choir has built an impressive and varied repertoire that spans centuries of time and wide ranges of composition style.
In fall 2013, Te Deum began its Antiqua series, offering historically informed performances of repertoire from the 12th-17th centuries with a smaller roster.

In addition to our annual subscription series, we sing with both the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra .
