The group has traveled to Nancy, France on Invitation, In one of France’s major choral festival, the 14th Festival International Chant de Choral held In May 2007. On tour In Europe, the choir performed to much acclaim In France, Belgium and Austria. We meet weekly September to June and perform for church services three Sundays a month. Our repertoire is diverse, and we are open to all church members and also to anyone who is friendly to the church. No special requirements. In addition to two planned concerts a year (a Christmas concert In the Fall and a SprIng concert), there are frequently requests from local organizations for appearances. For example, In the sprIng of 2011, the group performed at the Wright Brothers Monument for the Centennial of the Wright Brothers Glider Flight. The repertoire of the Outer Banks Chorus ranges from the Classical to Broadway, and spirituals of all kInds and In different languages. Recently the chorus has sung a number of premiere performances of pieces by contemporary composers.
