Brahms' A German Requiem and Poulenc's Gloria, composed a century apart, express the joys and sorrows of being human. His mother's death, compounded Brahms' raw grief at the loss of his friend and mentor Robert Schumann nine years earlier to inspire this beautiful Musical meditation on the tragedy of death. We Annually we perform two large concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. We have a remarkable repertoire of many Choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Mathews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more.
