Having been friends and in the choral scene for twenty years, the two have been talking about a project like this for around fifteen years. Spurred by the release of the revised English missal, Alejandro and Eugene both thought it a good time to finally restart the project that they had shelved for some time. Only now, the idea wasn’t just to end with a single album; the idea was now to establish a ministry that would introduce a new generation of music to Philippine Catholics. The new ministry would have as its aim the creation of beautiful music to help the faithful to a more prayerful, solemn state of mind. They have now, in an understated way, established themselves as a much sought after ensemble with followers all over the world. They’ve travelled extensively, performing at weddings, corporate events and concerts in venues as far afield as Rome, Los Angeles and Saudi Arabia, but they’re more than happy to perform closer to home ! Our repertoire spans the centuries, from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. Our particuLar speciality is folk music from all over the globe. Cantóirí sings each song in the original Language. We are lucky as we have been able to draw on the Language skills of choir members from around the world. Cantóirí perform reguLarly in Dublin and also enjoy taking part in Choral competitions around the country.

With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its Musical exc...  Lass="view_more_link" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getNext().style.dispLay='';$(this).getParent().style.dispLay='none';">moreLass="view_more" style="dispLay:none;">A select mixed ensemble that focuses on masterworks from the 17th century to the present with emphasis given to Larger works. With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its Musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities.
