Th...  moreThe girls quartet in which Manca Simonič, Urška Brank, Ana Plemenitaš and Višnja Fičor are singing is called Gallina, in translation pullet. But the only association is their liveliness, ease and wittiness. The group was established in the end of 2010. The girls were singing together in several acknowledged Slovene choirs and they all still sing in varied singing groups (RTV Chamber choir, Opera choir SNT Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, Vocal Group iZbor …) The leader of the group is a promising young conductor Ana Erčulj, who is regularly attending masterclasses led by Slovene and foreign experts. Besides ordinarily performance they are working on implementation of the program by binding singing with other arts such as dancing and visuality. Their reperoaire consist of slovenian folk music, vocal jazz and pop. Gallina is working with young composers and encourage them to write for female quartet in different styles. Integrates more than twenty young people between fourteen and eighteen years of age who have, in Music, a common denominator. Intends to continue developing their vocal talent, working a varied repertoire in multiple languages, styles, and four mixed voices (SATB) a cappella or in collaboration with instrumental ensembles. Has the support of the Instituto Politecnico de Castelo Branco, through the provision of space for rehearsals, on Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco (ESART). Fifteen days after its formation, the band was invited to participate in the IX Spring Concert (Covilha), with the theme "East and West", taking place on March 15, 2015. He accepted with great pleasure and it turned out a great way for bringing a greater responsibility to the original project.  less

Housed in the Faculty of Engineering, members are composed of students from the different Engineering and Computer Departments. Started out as a small group of young Engineering students in 1976, the group now is currently the UST-Engineering's pride. Under the baton of Mr. Ronald Raz, the chorale has been able to earn places in the annual University Competitions. Even until now, the group has been maintaining a position in the top college choirs of the University. The chorale is not only known for their repertoire ranging from sacred music to mellow pop, they are also known for their acapella renditions of up beat pop music.
