Highlights of recent seasons include highlights from the 80′s rock musical ‘Chess,’ ’Messiah’, by G.F. Handel, Gloria, by Vivaldi, the Durufle Requiem, the Pope Marcellus Mass by Palestrina, Magnificat by J.S. Bach and Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. During the summer, Cantate presents the Pacific Summer Music Festival which hosts guest musicians such as the nation’s most beloved choral conductor, Dr. Weston Noble, concert pianists, Itay Goren and Frank Pavese and the Grammy-nominated string Ensemble, Quartet San Francisco. Singing is a gentle form of cardio-vascular exercise
with many wellbeing benefits:
Encourages deeper breathing – promoting respiratory health
Releases stress – potentially lowering blood pressure
Lifts the spirits – releasing happy hormones
Brings us together – in a creative activity
Boosts memory skills – it’s brain gym
Can be Seriously Good Fun!
Sessions include gentle warm up exercises and
singing of songs from around the world
All taught by ear – no previous musical ability required.
Open to all cardiac patients, their friends and family.

When founding member Rick Rosen left California in mid-2003 to move ba... moreCordus Mundi began life in 2002 in San Francisco when six former San Francisco Concert Chorale singers banded together to begin an exploration of the male a cappella choral repertoire. When founding member Rick Rosen left California in mid-2003 to move back to Bucks County, the original group of west coast singers went on hiatus.
In its second life, and with the blessings of the founding Californians, Cordus Mundi was reborn in early 2005 in Bucks County. Now with fifteen voices, the newest incarnation of Cordus Mundi has the flexibility and versatility to expand the group’s musical exploration into new areas - the repertoire is varied and eclectic, and the group includes two composers and several arrangers.
Cordus Mundi draws its repertoire from a wide range of composers and styles, from Dunstable to Duruflé, from Byrd to Bernstein, from Palestrina to Paranjoti, from Brahms to the Beatles, and from Jacob Handl to Edie Hill. The University of Pretoria Youth Choir is a multi-cultural choir consisting of 90 members aged between 14 and 19 years and representing 33 Secondary Schools in the greater Tshwane area.
They are all amateur singers. The choir forms part of the multi-choir model of the University of Pretoria, the others being the UP Jacaranda Children’s Choir, UP Camerata.

The minimum age requirement for our adult chorale is 16yrs. Both males and female are welcome to join our Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass groups.
Performances are organised in conjunction with local council support throughout the year

Skinner’s performing editions will be published by Edition Peters. He is also guest blogger on renaissance repertoire for Eric Whitacre.
