Today it comprises 23 selected singers, Cantilena meaning "lightweight song", deriving from The Latin word for "song" or "melody". Whenever possible, during concerts The members of The choir wear a pearl necklace to represent The significance of The activities pursued: each member of The choir is represented by one of The pearls, with The strand linking Them all being The music - The main purpose of so much hard work to achieve artistic quality. As well as being an extremely feminine accessory, it also illustrates The quality, refinement, finish and musical beauty that The Academia Concerto pursues. We're a group of about 20 men & women, and sing in 3 or 4 (or more) part harmony. Quorum love to raise money for local causes - covering all sorts of charities, in all sorts of venues. Quorum Singers of St Albans has been singing for over 25 years, and perform around 3 times a year in St Albans or locally in Hertfordshire. We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays, throughout The term time, and can often be found performing in Christopher Place around Christmas time!  less

It has evolved into an Ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it develops a sound that is artistically intelligent. In its 14-year history, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in several international choral competitions. Among which are The 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), The 1st A Voyage of Songs International Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and The 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). In 2009, The choir won The 1st and 2nd Prizes at The 46th Internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, Austria and The 1st Prize at The 55th Certamen International de Habaneras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain.
